Job Title: Metrology Technician
Job Description
The Metrology Technician provides maintenance on various laboratory instrumentation and equipment under the direction of senior staff. The role involves installing, calibrating, and qualifying routine and remedial maintenance while documenting all work according to standard operating procedures and established maintenance schedules to meet regulatory requirements. You will collaborate with lab staff, schedule maintenance tasks, and train others on equipment as needed.
Responsibilities
+ Perform scheduled routine maintenance on active instrumentation and equipment.
+ Conduct scheduled calibrations and qualifications on active instrumentation, including Installation Qualification (IQ), Operational Qualification (OQ), and Performance Qualification (PQ).
+ Carry out remedial maintenance on active instrumentation and equipment.
+ Oversee the installation of new laboratory instrumentation and equipment.
+ Follow vendor documentation related to preventive maintenance, calibration, qualification, and repairs.
+ Address internal and external audits on laboratory instruments and equipment.
+ Evaluate lab support records for compliance with SOPs, review for completeness and accuracy, and report findings.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in metrology and calibration techniques.
+ Experience with laboratory equipment troubleshooting.
+ Understanding of GMP regulations and instrument calibrations, including scales, balances, flow meters, temperature, and pressure meters.
+ Knowledge of cleanroom ISO 7/8 standards preferred.
+ Experience in GMP-regulated environments within the pharmaceutical industry.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ High/Secondary school diploma or equivalent and relevant formal academic/vocational qualification.
+ Technical positions may require a certificate.
+ A minimum of 2 years of previous experience providing relevant knowledge, skills, and abilities.
+ Understanding of FDA and GXP regulations and requirements.
+ Basic troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
+ Strong interpersonal skills with a client-focused approach.
+ Ability to effectively communicate with vendors, clients, and all levels of staff.
+ Capability to work in a collaborative team environment.
Work Environment
The role operates on a Monday-Friday day shift from 7:00 or 7:30 AM to 3:00 or 3:30 PM, with overtime available. Flexibility is required. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Saint Louis, MO.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $29.67 - $29.67/hr.
