    Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic

    Job Description

    This position requires an individual who can work under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor to ensure the smooth operation of all mill equipment. The role involves performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and ensuring the safety and efficiency of the equipment.

    Responsibilities

    + Perform preventative maintenance and routine service on all mill equipment.

    + Troubleshoot and repair equipment problems.

    + Maintain accurate records of inventories and completed maintenance.

    + Communicate and work effectively with all team members.

    + Follow all safety rules and guidelines.

    + Function as the 'on call' maintenance for the mill.

    + Perform general clean up as needed and keep tools organized.

    + Travel to other mills when needed for preventive maintenance.

    + Understand, utilize, and navigate the System.

    + Ensure adherence to policies, methods, and disciplines.

    Essential Skills

    + Troubleshooting

    + Maintenance technician

    + Electrical and mechanical repair

    + Preventive maintenance

    + Industrial mechanical and electrical knowledge

    + Proficiency with conveyor, hydraulics, pneumatics, and welding

    + Ability to read schematics and use hand tools

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Minimum High School Diploma or GED

    + General mechanical background

    + Effective time management skills

    + Ability to climb ladders and work in high places

    + Ability to work in confined spaces

    + Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 80 pounds)

    + Ability to work in dusty conditions

    + Basic computer skills

    + Basic electrical and plumbing skills

    + Basic pneumatic, welding, and torching skills

    + Basic conveyor and bucket elevator skills

    + Basic mixer, grinder, pellet mill, and extruder skills

    + Basic liquid and flow meter skills

    + Basic cooling and drying skills

    + Basic automation understanding

    + Basic knowledge of steam systems and boilers

    Work Environment

     

    Work in an industrial feed processing plant with a schedule of 1st shift, Monday to Friday, from 6 am to 2 pm. There is a rotating on-call requirement.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Massey, MD.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $23.10 - $23.10/hr.
