Job Title: Office Engineer
Job Description
This role involves providing Resident Engineering, Assistant Resident Engineering, Office Engineering, Inspecting, and Scheduling services for the MW-12 Slope Stabilization project. The work involves all aspects of the stabilization of the eroded north slope near the BART tracks in Walnut Creek, CA. The position is located at the BART Headquarters and spans a period of 24 months.
Responsibilities
+ Provide procedural and administrative support to the Resident Engineer and Project Staff.
+ Reserve and schedule conference rooms, and attend weekly progress status meetings with the Contractor.
+ Support the preparation of progress meeting agendas and minutes.
+ Receive documents from the Contractor, and process incoming/outgoing correspondences, transmittals, submittals, RFIs, and changes.
+ Keep Submittal and RFI Logs updated.
+ Track the status of documents to ensure timely response and keep the Resident Engineer informed.
+ Upload signed Inspector Daily Reports (IDRs) in the approved District software.
+ Assist Inspectors with files and database system information when needed.
+ Assist the Project Manager and Resident Engineer with Change Notices and Change Orders.
+ Review Contractor’s cost proposals and process invoices.
+ Evaluate, process, and route Contractor’s monthly invoices for approval.
+ Review and submit Pay Applications.
+ Track Contractor’s invoices to ensure timely payment.
+ Update repository with correspondence, transmittals, and logs.
+ Maintain records of paper files and hard copies of contract documents.
+ Process requests for Contractor’s badges and clearances and assist with onboarding new staff.
+ Perform other tasks as directed by the Program Manager/Resident Engineer and/or the District.
+ Track RFIs, responses, and metrics.
+ Track project submittals, responses, and review submittals if necessary.
+ Process and assist in the making and processing of Track Allocation Requests, and attend meetings.
+ Manage and monitor document control and provide editorial support.
Essential Skills
+ Experience in Construction, Construction Management, and Civil Engineering.
+ Proficiency in Project Management.
+ Knowledge of RFIs, Change Orders, and Submittals.
+ Ability to oversee construction, inspection, and reporting.
+ Experience in Roadway Construction, Public Works, and Electrical systems.
+ Understanding of Land Development and Wastewater treatment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Professional Engineer certification is a plus.
+ Experience with Construction Oversight.

Work Environment
Work with a small team of 2-3 members under the management of the owner. Standard working hours are Monday through Friday from 8:15 AM to 5:00 PM, with a 45-minute lunch and appropriate breaks. The work location is primarily at BART Headquarters, with potential for remote work as directed.
Job Type & Location

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $124800.00 - $166400.00/yr.
