Marine Electrician Technician - San Diego, CA - Career Opportunity
Job Description
+ The Marine Electrician Technician will support field installation services on board US Navy ships. This role involves installing, terminating, and testing fiber optic and copper cable assemblies essential for various ship services such as power, communication, telephone, and alarm systems. Strong communication skills and attention to detail are crucial. While experience with multi-pin copper connectors is required, training and certification for fiber optics will be provided in-house.
Responsibilities
+ Install, tag, and band fiber optic and copper cables on various Naval vessels.
+ Perform layout, fabrication, and installation of electrical wiring, coaxial cable, waveguides, or fiber optic cable onboard Navy vessels.
+ Troubleshoot and test fiber and copper cables and circuits.
+ Read and interpret drawings, specifications, technical manuals, and design notices.
+ Use trade tools such as multi-meters, pin crimpers, and soldering equipment to accomplish complex tasks associated with electrical installation.
+ Work independently with minimal supervision or guidance.
Essential Skills
+ Experience as a Marine Electrician with 3-5 years of relevant experience in ship repair onboard US Navy ships.
+ Certification and experience with multi-pin copper connectors.
+ Ability to work off customer drawings and specifications.
+ Proficiency in using multi-meters, pin crimpers, and soldering equipment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Knowledge of MS-Office programs including Word and Excel.
+ Experience in the Navy as an Electronics Technician (ET), Information Systems Technician (IC), Aviation Maintenance (AT), or Electrician's Mate (EM) is highly preferred.
+ Multi-pin connector and cableway and/or cable handling certification is highly preferred.

Work Environment
+ Work is conducted at various locations including NBSD, NASNI (Coronado), CMSD, NASSCO, Austal, and BAE. The role may require working overtime, including weekends, and traveling for extended periods when necessary.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Diego, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $40.00/hr.
