Job Title: CNC Lathe Setup/Programmer

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled CNC Lathe Setup/Programmer to join our team in a dynamic Aerospace/Commercial Machine shop. In this role, you will operate CNC and manual lathes to produce high-quality parts, ensuring they meet specifications and are delivered on time.

Responsibilities

+ Operate CNC and manual lathes to run production parts.

+ Walk between machines, load/unload parts, and ensure jobs meet specifications.

+ Monitor and adjust machine settings based on part requirements.

+ Use measuring tools to check tolerances and ensure quality.

+ Run programs and tools efficiently and in a timely manner.

+ Maintain detailed attention to part quality and job timing.

+ Demonstrate creativity and problem-solving in daily tasks.

+ Operate and maintain CNC machines.

+ Set-up lathing machines.

Essential Skills

+ Proficiency in operating CNC and manual lathes.

+ Experience in CNC lathe and milling operations.

+ Ability to read and interpret blueprints.

+ Proficiency in using measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers.

+ Ability to edit G Code and M Code.

+ Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience.

+ Detail-oriented with strong time management skills.

+ Ability to work independently and manage job flow.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience with manual mill and lathe operations.

+ Basic CNC lathe and milling experience preferred.

+ Proficiency in English (reading and verbal communication).

+ Not suitable for recent graduates unless top of class.

Work Environment

The work environment is loud and dirty, but well-organized and sectioned off. The shift hours are from 7 AM to 3:30 PM or 8 AM to 4:30 PM. The dress code includes wearing jeans without holes, a T-shirt, and PPE. The company provides disposable coveralls, protective eyewear, gloves, masks, and requires steel-toed boots. Performance is measured by job completion time and material efficiency.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Petaluma, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $48.00/hr.
