Job Title: Facilities Maintenance Technician

Job Description

Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on facility systems, including HVAC, air handling units, HEPA filters, chilled water, compressed air, vacuum, and process gas systems.

Responsibilities

+ Support cleanroom environmental controls, including pressure differentials, temperature, humidity, and particle monitoring.

+ Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems in a timely manner to minimize downtime.

+ Maintain and update maintenance records, logs, and documentation in accordance with ISO, GMP, and company policies.

+ Follow all cleanroom contamination control procedures, including proper gowning, sanitization, and cleaning protocols.

+ Respond to facility alarms, excursions, and emergency situations, ensuring systems return to operational standards quickly.

+ Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, and Production teams to support cleanroom operations and continuous improvement.

+ Assist in equipment installations, qualifications, and calibrations as required.

+ Ensure compliance with OSHA safety standards and company EHS (Environmental Health & Safety) programs.

Essential Skills

+ At least 3 years of experience in Facilities Technician or equivalent related functions.

+ Knowledge of HVAC, filtration systems, and building utilities.

+ Basic understanding of electrical and control systems.

+ Ability to follow SOPs and detailed maintenance procedures.

+ Proficiency in using hand tools, test instruments, and maintenance equipment.

+ Problem-solving skills and ability to work independently under minimal supervision.

+ Excellent attention to detail, with strong written and verbal communication skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or trade school certification preferred.

+ 2+ years of experience in facilities maintenance, HVAC, or cleanroom environment (manufacturing, pharma, biotech, or semiconductor experience preferred).

+ Experience with Building Management Systems (BMS) and preventive maintenance programs a plus.

+ Familiarity with ISO cleanroom classifications and GMP regulations (preferred).

+ OSHA safety training (Lockout/Tagout, confined space, PPE) preferred.

You will be working in a multi-site facility covering over 63,000 square feet. The position is for the 2nd shift.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Carlsbad, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45.19 - $47.45/hr.
