    Job Title: Chief Building Engineer

    Job Description

    The Chief Building Engineer is responsible for the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of all building systems, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and life safety systems. This role ensures maximum uptime and optimal performance of critical infrastructure while maintaining compliance with all regulatory standards. The Chief Engineer leads the engineering team, manages preventive maintenance programs, and oversees contractors and vendors to protect and enhance the value of the property.

    Responsibilities

    + Monitor, operate, and maintain HVAC systems, boilers, chillers, pumps, valves, piping, and electrical equipment.

    + Perform and oversee preventive maintenance tasks such as filter changes, lubrication, belt adjustments, and inspections.

    + Respond promptly to emergencies (e.g., fire alarms, equipment failures) and implement corrective actions.

    + Maintain accurate logs and documentation for building systems and compliance requirements.

    + Supervise and develop engineering and maintenance staff, including hiring, training, and performance management.

    + Assign and monitor maintenance activities and projects to ensure timely completion.

    + Foster a culture of safety, professionalism, and continuous improvement within the team.

    + Identify and remediate safety hazards to ensure a secure environment for staff and occupants.

    + Ensure compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, and company directives.

    + Maintain up-to-date building drawings, single-line diagrams, and compliance documentation.

    Essential Skills

    + Proficiency in electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems.

    + Experience with HVAC/R systems and facilities maintenance.

    + Ability to perform technical skills and self-perform tasks.

    + Strong administrative and managerial skills with the ability to delegate tasks.

    + Capable of directing, coaching, and teaching team members.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience with preventive maintenance and troubleshooting.

    + Familiarity with Famis and Yardi systems.

    + Knowledge of cleaning coils, IDFs, walking coolers, and boilers.

    The Chief Building Engineer will work in a corporate building environment, managing and maintaining complex building systems to ensure a safe and efficient workplace for all occupants.

    This is a Permanent position based out of Irving, TX.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $104000.00 - $114400.00/yr.

     

    -The company will provide medical, 401k, PTO, and paid holidays.

     

    Workplace Type

     

    This is a fully onsite position in Irving,TX.
