Job Title:** **Machine Operator

Job Description

The Operator Assistant plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of production lines. This position involves maintaining a steady supply of materials and efficiently managing the loading and unloading of trucks for shipping and receiving purposes. As a fork truck driver, you will assist throughout the plant by transporting formed metal from the roll forming area to the secondary/utility area and vice versa. Additionally, you will load finished material into the warehouse and onto trucks.

Your responsibilities include:

+ Bringing materials to work cells.

+ Taking bundles from work cells.

+ Moving racks and emptying hoppers.

+ Assisting the roll line with offloading parts when fork truck duties are completed.

This is primarily a machine operator role, so experience operating CNC machines, laser cutting machines, press machines, Roll forming or similar industrial equipment is required.

Responsibilities

+ Assist with setup, loading, and unloading parts from the production line.

+ Operate machines such as CNC, laser, or press machines.

+ Utilize computer skills for inventory control and documentation of goods shipped/received.

+ Process paperwork accurately and efficiently.

+ Use hand tools to load/unload parts.

+ Pack finished goods for shipping.

Essential Skills

+ Sit-down forklift experience is required.

+ Experience in industrial or manufacturing settings.

+ Proficiency in shipping and receiving processes.

+ Strong computer skills for inventory control and documentation.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience with crane operation and work orders.

+ Familiarity with RF scanners and data entry.

+ Knowledge of inventory control, cycle counts, and bills of lading.

Work Environment

The role is based in a manufacturing environment, which can be hot or cold at times. While the setting is industrial, it is not necessarily dirty or unpleasant. The majority of the business involves forming metal from flat-rolled steel for agricultural equipment like international harvester tractors.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Shelbyville, KY.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.50 - $21.50/hr.
