Siemens is seeking a **Solutions Engineer** to join the Retail and Commercial Solutions team. This role is responsible for designing energy management and building automation solutions for retail and commercial buildings, and for integrating these solutions with the Site Controls cloud-based platform, a technology that enables remote monitoring, configuration, and control of building systems.
As a Solutions Engineer, you will:
+ Participate in and support technical design projects, including drafting initial concepts, reviewing client requirements, assisting with proposal preparation, selecting equipment, and designing EMS/BMS system architecture.
+ Assist in the coordination and follow-up of custom projects, ensuring smooth execution while reducing the administrative workload on senior engineers.
+ Help document and standardize design processes to improve efficiency and reduce reliance on senior engineers for recurring project tasks.
+ Develop control applications using PPCL control language or a similar control programming language.
+ Configure and program building automation controllers.
+ Provide technical guidance and support to customers.
+ Write standard and customized sequences of operation based on customer specifications.
+ Offer remote support to field specialists and other technicians (internal or external) for troubleshooting automation-related issues.
+ Integrate third-party devices into EMS/BMS solutions.
You’ll make an impact with these qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
+ Associate’s degree in engineering (Electrical or Mechanical), Computer Information Systems, or a related technical field.
+ 4+ years of professional experience in Energy Management and/or Building Automation Systems.
+ Experience configuring and programming building automation controllers.
+ Solid knowledge of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems.
+ Basic understanding of commercial electrical power distribution and lighting systems.
+ Experience with communication protocols such as Modbus RTU, BACnet IP, and BACnet MSTP.
+ Must be willing to travel 20% of the time.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Strong communication skill both written and verbal.
+ Ability to work independently as well as work with other group or teams.
+ In depth PPCL control programming experience.
+ Proficient with Siemens PXC and Desigo families of automation controllers.
+ Proficient in the use of Siemens CommTool and ABT Site software.
+ In depth experience with Utilities, Metering, and/or Networking equipment.
+ Time and task management skills (e.g., Project Manager, Project Engineer).
+ Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship
