Job Summary:

Dr. Mariano Viapiano's lab is seeking a Research Support Specialist who will provide technical support for research lab(s). Instructions and the design of the experiments will be provided by the senior lab members. Individual will be expected to work independently and keep detailed notes of experimental procedures and findings. Duties will include but are not limited to: performing experiments, data analysis, record keeping, administrative support and lab maintenance. Potential techniques include: preparation of tissue samples, tissue culture, fluorescence and confocal microscopy, DNA, RNA and protein analyses by gel electrophoresis, western blotting and PCR. Good organizational and record-keeping skills are required. Must be good at time management and able to prioritize multiple tasks.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Neuroscience or related fields.

Preferred Qualifications:

Prior experience working in a lab

Work Days:

Weekdays and as needed
