Job Title: Assistant Property Manager
Job Description
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Assistant Property Manager to oversee day-to-day operations of a small affordable housing community. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with leasing experience looking to advance their career in property management. The role is ideal for a self-starter who thrives in a quiet, independent work environment and is passionate about providing safe, ethical housing to residents.
Responsibilities
+ Manage leasing activities including marketing, showing units, processing applications, and handling move-in/move-out procedures.
+ Ensure compliance with HUD regulations and Section 8 requirements.
+ Maintain accurate resident files and documentation.
+ Collect rent, post payments, and manage delinquency.
+ Coordinate maintenance requests and follow up on work orders.
+ Conduct regular property inspections to ensure curb appeal.
+ Order supplies and pick up parts as needed (vehicle required).
+ Utilize property management systems and Microsoft tools such as Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
Essential Skills
+ Experience in property management or property administration.
+ Proficiency in customer service and Microsoft Office.
+ Familiarity with property management systems.
+ 1+ years of leasing experience (nice to have).
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience as an Assistant Community Manager is preferred.
+ Ability to operate a vehicle for errands and parts pickup.
+ A clean criminal background is required.
+ Aptitude test is preferred but optional if it delays the start.
Work Environment
The position is onsite from 8 AM to 5 PM with a 1-hour lunch break, offering flexibility with start and end times. The role allows for a supportive team environment with potential for long-term placement.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of New Prague, MN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $24.00/hr.
