    Platform Engineer Role:

    As a member of CoreSite’s IT Solutions team, the Platform Engineer is responsible for the development and enhancement of a scalable, reliable, and secure software delivery platform. This engineer will design, automate, and optimize the platforms that support our developer experience, applications, and services. This role will collaborate with teams across our IT organization to enhance developer productivity, improve system reliability, and ensure a smooth path from code to production.

    Requirements

    Duties:

    + Design, build, and maintain scalable platforms to support the developer experience and system operations.

    + Develop automation tools and self-service capabilities that improve developer workflows and reduce operational overhead.

    + Ensure platform reliability and performance through monitoring, alerting, and proactive capacity planning.

    + Collaborate with software engineering teams to design CI/CD pipelines that service cloud, SaaS, and on-prem systems.

    + Implement and enforce best practices for cloud infrastructure and security compliance.

    + Manage and optimize infrastructure resources across cloud and on-prem environments.

    + Troubleshoot complex platform issues. Drive incident management, root cause analysis, and long-term solutions.

    + Continuously evaluate new technologies, tools, and approaches to improve platform capabilities.

    + Perform regular releases according to the IT Solutions release calendar

    + Assist in supporting the applications and infrastructure that the DevOps Team administers

    + Support the QA Engineers in the development of the automated test suite framework

    + Promote and demonstrate the behaviors consistent with CoreSite’s culture and 8 Guiding Principles

    + Special projects as assigned

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

    + Communication skills, including: communicating at technical and business levels, and the ability to interact with people from all organizational levels

    + Self-starting, self-motivated, driven individual

    + Ability to pivot easily within a constantly changing Agile environment

    + Working experience with multiple software development languages (C#, Python, Node.js, etc.)

    + Working experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, BitBucket Pipelines, Groovy, Maven, Octopus Deploy, etc.)

    + Experience with Salesforce a plus

    + Experience with database platforms a plus (SQL Server, Oracle)

    + Experience with AWS a plus

    + Ability to analyze requirements, retrieve source data, and present accurate results in a timely manner

    + Accomplished in using best practices for gathering and documenting complete and detailed requirements

    Education/ Experience:

    + Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or other applicable field preferred

    + 5+ years overall experience including:

    + 4+ years’ experience with DevOps disciplines such as CI/CD

    + 2+ years’ experience with Platform Engineering

    Compensation:

    Compensation for this role includes a base salary between $115,000 and $135,000 annually. This role is also eligible for an annual bonus and equity, based upon individual and company performance.
