Description
• Maintain formula development and project master trackers for products in development that hold key information and keep track of these specific details (i.e. submission ref. codes, evaluation feedback, completion dates, etc.)
• Manage day to day communication with manufactures to initiate, follow up and track development, submissions, and documents.
• Travel to labs onsite (domestic and international) for formula and color development.
• Manages on⁃going product reformulations within the color makeup category
• Keeps an organized system for all product and packaging submissions and approvals in physical bins.
• Prepares R&D briefs and product fact sheets to capture all development needs including product texture and fragrance benchmark, usage, product. ingredients/technologies, positioning and claims with input from Executive Director and/or supervisor.
• Creates product profiles, testing and formula dossiers and turnover presentations under the supervision of Executive Director and/or supervisor.
• Responsible for sending out product samples and questionnaires and summarizing feedback.
• Helps drive and coordinate all testing (safety, clinical, sensory, in-vitro) with the help of Executive Director and/or supervisor.
• Reviews, inputs and edits all PR and Education materials with input from the Executive Director and/or supervisor.
• Coordinates requests for product samples from Product Marketing, Creative, R&D, Education.
• Maintains weekly status report and keeps Vice President and Executive Director and/or supervisor informed of project details.
Qualifications
• Undergraduate College degree
• Minimum 5+ years relevant experience in color and/or complexion makeup product development .
• Passionate about the beauty industry and possesses a strong understanding of the Global beauty consumer.
• Excellent organization and follow-through skills with a keen eye for detail.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; good presentation skills.
• Innate ability to think creatively and brainstorm new approaches, ingredients, claims, shades or ideas.
• Multi-functional, flexible to handle ever changing priorities, projects and tasks.
• Strong skills in tactile/aesthetic evaluation of cosmetic products as well as the ability to communicate product understanding.
• Must have a strong color eye with expertise in color / shade matching makeup products.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Applications: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint & AI tools (ChatGPT, Copilot, etc.)
• Ability to work in a fast⁃paced, often⁃changing, collaborative environment.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with exceptional interpersonal skills.
