    Senior Finance Specialist - Revenue Recognition

    EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS

    The Revenue Recognition Senior Finance Specialist is responsible providing Revenue Recognition Deal Support for SAP NS2. This position requires a dynamic individual with the ability to partner with the sales organization and ensure the on premise, professional services and cloud license agreements are accounted for properly in accordance with IFRS and the SAP Revenue Recognition Guideline. The Revenue Recognition Senior Specialist reports the NS2 CFO, collaborating closely with the SAP North America Revenue Recognition Manager supporting the Global Commercial Finance Team.

     

    SAP NS2 offers a streamlined, secure adoption of SAP cloud innovation to the most security-conscious organizations across all industries – from commercial entities in regulated industries including utilities, financial services, healthcare, to organizations within government and defense agencies. In this role as a SAP NS2 Cloud Controller, you are part of the SAP NS2 finance team supporting SAP Sovereign Cloud. The SAP NS2 cloud business has grown rapidly and in 2025 is expected to support over $500M of revenue annually and continues to grow into new segments. As the Trusted Partner to this team, he/she bears responsibility for overseeing Cloud profitability for the business. This position also works closely with local and global colleagues in achieving controlling initiatives including alignment on revenues and cloud expenses aligned to solution area.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    + Perform controls and procedures to review on premise and cloud license agreements to ensure they are accounted for properly. Understand changes in business and regulatory environments to ensure compliance.

    + Find opportunities to simplify deal support by reducing the amount of complexity for the salesforce.

    + Professionally interact with auditors during their quarterly reviews and the annual audit procedures.

    + Work with Sales, Pricing, Field and Services Controlling, Legal, oCFO and Contracts to ensure license agreements are structured in accordance with SAP's Revenue Recognition and IFRS15 policies.

    + Perform controls and procedures related to the monthly close of software revenue accounts and ensure the market unit controllers are aware of all posted adjustments. Follow best practices in the area of monthly close.

    + Keep current on the latest Revenue Recognition training content & programs, working as part of the North America Revenue Recognition team.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    + Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred

    + 5-8 years of relevant work experience

    + Willingness to develop thorough knowledge of IFRS15 / U.S. GAAP on revenue recognition and SAP’s policies and practices

    + Public accounting experience preferred

    + Inquisitiveness and critical thinking skills

    + Problem solver with confidently affirmative attitude

    + Excellent communication skills

    + Ability to work under time pressure and deadlines, and juggle multiple tasks and projects

    + Team player and self-starter

    + Prepared to support within Eastern Standard Time (EST) working hour

    **Compensation Range Transparency** : SAP believes the value of pay transparency contributes towards an honest and supportive culture and is a significant step toward demonstrating SAP’s commitment to pay equity. SAP provides the annualized compensation range inclusive of base salary and variable incentive target for the career level applicable to the posted role. The targeted combined range for this position is 127100 - 216000(USD) USD. The actual amount to be offered to the successful candidate will be within that range, dependent upon the key aspects of each case which may include education, skills, experience, scope of the role, location, etc. as determined through the selection process. Any SAP variable incentive includes a targeted dollar amount and any actual payout amount is dependent on company and personal performance.
