The Department of Construction Management is one of the largest construction management programs in the country with approximately 800 undergraduate students, 20 graduate students, 20 faculty, and 7 professional staff. The undergraduate program is accredited by the American Council for Construction Education. Academic advising, internship and career placement support are provided by professional staff. The Department engages in teaching, scholarly, and outreach activities to promote the development of knowledge and skills related to construction management. The Department’s facilities include over 36,000 square feet in dedicated labs (physical testing and computer), classrooms, and offices to support its research, teaching, and service mission. As Construction Engineering is a new degree program within the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department, CSU has developed a unique partnership with the CM Department to develop curriculum, educate and develop students building on the strengths of both programs. This degree program is designed for students who seek a career in management, engineering, business leadership or operations in the construction industry. Students graduating from this program will be able to solve complex technical and managerial problems throughout construction of the built environment. Students will also develop skills that deliver construction programs in a safe, ethical, socially responsible and sustainable manner.

Position Summary
The Department of Construction Management is seeking a full-time Non-Tenure Track Faculty member at the rank of Instructor to teach courses across the newly developed Construction Engineering (BS) program and the existing Construction Management (BS) program. The successful candidate will contribute to undergraduate instruction in one or both programs, depending on their area of expertise and departmental needs.
The successful candidate will teach undergraduate courses that prepare students for professional careers in the construction industry and related fields; engage with student organizations and mentor student competition teams; and participate in service activities that advance the mission of the department, the college, and the university. Exemplary service activities include serving on departmental, college, or university committees and contributing to departmental initiatives, policies, and strategic planning efforts.
Work authorization visa sponsorship may be available depending on individual circumstances and associated costs for the selected finalist.

Required Job Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
+ Minimum of three (3) years of experience in the construction industry including, jobsite supervision/management, project management and coordination, engineering and engineering services (inspection, testing, etc.), subcontracting, professional craft, and/or other construction industry related experience.
+ Potential to successfully teach university-level courses.
+ The ability to teach at least two of the following courses (see course descriptions athttps://catalog.colostate.edu/general-catalog/courses-az/cone/):
+ CONE 103 Virtual Design and Construction I
+ CONE 203 Virtual Design and Construction II
+ CONE 302 Preconstruction and Project Control Systems
+ CONE 404 Production Planning of Construction Operation

Preferred Job Qualifications
+ More than five (5) years of construction experience within the previous 8 years.
+ Graduate degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or related fields.
+ Construction-industry certifications.
+ Construction-industry training experience as an instructor.
+ Higher education teaching experience as an instructor or guest lecturer.
+ Demonstrated performance in teaching or training that positively impacts student learning.
+ Knowledge and/or teaching abilities in one or more of the following areas:
+ Construction Contracts and Project Administration
+ Construction Equipment and Methods
+ Construction Estimating
+ Construction Materials and Methods
+ Graphics Communications in Construction
+ Materials Testing and Processing
+ Structural Systems in Construction
+ Surveying and Construction Layout
