DESCRIPTION
The **Vice President Industry Influence & Communications** defines and leads Acosta’s cross-platform narrative strategy, translating executive vision and business transformation into clear, compelling stories. This leader aligns internal messaging and cultural storytelling with commercial strategy, amplifies thought leadership and brand visibility, and builds editorial infrastructure for scale, speed, and consistency. The role serves as a key industry influencer through business and trade media, industry association relations and event activations, partnering with senior leaders to drive growth opportunities by crafting untold and under-told stories about Acosta’s people, solutions, and impact.
RESPONSIBILITIES
+ Work with Acosta’s Executive Vice President of Corporate Communications and Marketing, Global Leadership Team, and other senior leaders to understand and communicate business strategies internally and externally.
+ Develop and oversee or support the implementation of corporate strategies around:
+ Brand messaging, architecture, promise, identity
+ Corporate marketing (elements of advertising, creative, promotional materials, website)
+ Public relations (media relations, crisis communication, CSR)
+ Internal communication (executive messaging, intranet, organizational messaging)
+ Event planning (leadership meetings, town halls, industry events)
+ Build and amplify Acosta’s value proposition and brand narrative through features, executive profiles, case studies, and digital campaigns.
+ Partner with senior executives and subject matter experts to uncover thought leadership opportunities and position Acosta as a trusted voice in retail and CPG innovation.
+ Represent Acosta’s thought leadership in the grocery and retail trade ecosystem through partnerships with industry associations and high-profile events.
+ Drive associate engagement and alignment through knowledge-sharing content that celebrates innovation, transformation, and purpose.
+ Ensure integration of corporate branding and messaging across all materials and divisions.
+ Develop, review, and implement company-wide communications policies and procedures.
+ Budget management.
+ Co-lead and develop the Communications staff to advance the organization’s mission and goals.
+ Perform other duties as required and/or assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Qualifications-Education and Experience:
+ Bachelor’s Degree
+ 15+ years of experience in corporate communications, preferably with a national or global organization.
+ Proven experience as a journalist or corporate storyteller with a track record of industry-defining features or enterprise reporting—preferably in grocery, retail, or consumer goods.
+ Strong experience with a variety of the field’s concepts, practices, and procedures.
+ Setting a strategic vision.
+ Experience exercising judgment to manage performance and prioritize opportunities.
Minimum Qualifications-Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
+ Exceptional writing, interviewing, and editorial judgment.
+ Deep understanding of media dynamics, digital content strategy, and cross-channel publishing.
+ Ability to perform a variety of tasks and lead/direct the work of others.
