    Job Summary

    The Equestrian and Event Manager is responsible for delivering a safe, engaging, and inclusive horseback riding program for Girl Scouts of all ages. This position oversees the daily operations of the Camp Liberty Equestrian Center, ensuring exceptional care for both horses and facilities. As a member of the Events and Experience team, the Equestrian and Event Manager designs, implements, and evaluates year-round programming for Girl Scouts in grades K–12, with a special focus on the summer camp equestrian program (June–August). Additionally, this role cultivates community partnerships to support funding and volunteer engagement, helping to deliver high-quality, hands-on experiences that bring the Girl Scout mission to life.

    Job Qualifications

    Minimum age of 21. Certification as an equestrian instructor from a nationally recognized organization. Management or supervisory experience at a horseback riding facility (at least 6 weeks). Current certification in Standard First Aid, CPR and AED. Good driving record, current driver’s license and the ability to operate a 12-passenger van. Ability to walk long distances and stand for long periods of time; ability to tolerate a variety of weather conditions including heat and humidity. Ability to lift and carry at least 50 lbs. Ability to ride horses on a weekly basis. Horses have a maximum weight capacity of 250 pounds. Experience working with and leading children and teenagers. Knowledge of safety guidelines, ACA standards, and personnel policies. Believes in and supports the mission of the Girl Scouts. Become a registered Girl Scout member.

     

    Special Instructions

     

    Certification or ability to become certified in CPR/First Aid, Lifeguarding, and Challenge Course Facilitation.
