Job Summary
Arapahoe Community College seeks a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to manage general ledger operations, cash accounts, and capital asset accounting. This role ensures compliance with GAAP, state fiscal rules, and internal controls while supporting fiscal services and supervising staff accountants. This position offers the chance to collaborate with dedicated professionals, uphold rigorous compliance standards, and ensure the integrity of our financial systems. Key Responsibilities:
+ Oversee day-to-day accounting functions, reconciliations, and journal entries
+ Monitor and reconcile cash accounts and bank statements
+ Manage plant funds and fixed asset inventory controls
+ Supervise and review work of staff accountants
+ Prepare year-end financial statements and audit schedules

Qualifications
+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting or closely related fieldOR an equivalent combination of education and experience will count towards the education requirement butwill not count towards the experience requirement below.
+ Three (3) or more years of general ledger accounting experience.
+ Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
+ Strong communication, analytical, organizational and interpersonal skills.
Preferred:
+ Demonstrated knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
+ Demonstrated experience with Banner.
+ Experience in fixed assets, including capitalization, depreciation, capital construction, and disposals.
