Required Education/Experience

+ High School Diploma/GED and 2 years relevant technical experience or

+ Associate's Degree In Electrical Technology or equivalent degree

Preferred Education/Experience

+ Associate's Degree In Electrical Technology or equivalent degree

Relevant Work Experience

+ Working knowledge of Basic AC and DC electrical power theory and circuit analysis, including 3 phase AC power systems. Required

+ Knowledgeable in mathematics and are able to learn to perform calculations involving basic trigonometry and vector analysis. Required

+ Experience with computer systems and must be able to use a computer to perform automated testing and prepare spreadsheets and technical reports. Required

+ Excellent oral and written communication skills and will be required to pass the PST Electrical Technician placement exam. Required

+ Able to perform testing, troubleshooting and repairs on protective relays and systems, overhead and underground switching and regulating devices, substation equipment, control systems and communication systems (SCADA - Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition) in substations and at other field locations. Preferred

+ Required to go through Bucket Truck Aerial and Ladder Line training and once trained, will be required to perform Storm Emergency restoration (Ladder Line) work, as needed. Preferred

+ Driver's License Required

Physical Demands

+ Ability to respond to system emergencies

+ Perform heavy manual labor, i.e. push, pull, and lift up to 50lbs

+ Ability to work in inclement weather and adverse conditions (i.e., excessive heat, cold, noise, confined spaces)

+ Ability to be approved to wear and use either a full or half-face respirator and self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA), without facial hair or other conditions that may interfere with the seal, in accordance with OSHA regulations

+ Stand, walk, lift, climb, bend, kneel, stoop, and/or reach for the duration of the workday

+ Wear necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), i.e. fire-retardant clothing and safety harnesses

+ Work rotating shifts, including nights, midnights, weekends, and holidays

+ Work with equipment with a manufacturer weight rating of 350lbs

+ Use equipment with a maximum weight rating of 375lbs when wearing and/or carrying 25lbs of clothing and equipment

Additional Physical Demands

+ Must be able to respond to Company emergencies by performing a System Emergency Assignment to restore service to our customers.
