Essential functions (job duties):
The Department of Technology, Information Systems and Analytics (TISA), at The Mike Ilitch School of Business, Wayne State University is seeking to fill an Assistant/Associate tenure track position to begin Fall 2026. Candidates will be expected to conduct research suitable for publication in top tier journals, teach courses in areas of interest at the undergraduate, graduate, or doctoral level, participate in department and school governance activities, and perform relevant service at different levels.

The TISA department is a cohesive and collaborative team that values innovative teaching, high-quality peer reviewed publications, student engagement and impactful service. The department has industrious students, an active Advisory Board, and engaged alumni. The TISA department has seen a steady increase in student enrollment and is seeking a colleague to be part of its growth trajectory.
The Mike Ilitch School of Business is accredited by AACSB International and prepares students for challenging and rewarding careers, advances the boundaries of scholarly and practitioner knowledge, and enhances the economic vitality of the city of Detroit, the state of Michigan, and beyond through its programs, research, and community engagement. Established in 1946, the business school was renamed in 2015 in recognition of a $40 million gift from Mike and Marian Ilitch. Qualifications:
+ A Ph.D. or A.B.D. in Information Systems, Analytics, Decision Sciences, or a related field from an AACSB-accredited business school.
+ Teaching experience in the above specified domains.
+ Developed or emerging research portfolio in a related field.
Preferred qualifications:
The TISA department is building a portfolio for the future of technology. The preferred candidate can teach courses in two or more of the following broad areas, shown alphabetically: · Business Analytics and Data Sciences (Analytics, Artificial Intelligence (AI)/Machine Learning (ML), Quantum Computing, Natural Language Processing (NLP), Technical MIS courses) · Cybersecurity (Network security, IoT, AI Security, Risk Analysis and Assessment, Privacy and Security). · Digital Health (Healthcare Analytics, Wearables, Personalized and Precision Medicine, mHealth). · Immersive Technologies (Augmented Reality, Extended Reality, Virtual Reality, Internet of Things (IoT), Metaverse, Robotics Process Automation, Edge Computing).
