UPMC Western Behavioral Health at Safe Harbor is excited to welcome an enthusiastic and driven Crisis Technician I to our Crisis Residential Unit (CRU) team!
Safe Harbor's Crisis Residential Unit (CRU) is an 8-bed facility designed to provide an alternative to inpatient behavioral health care. Our multidisciplinary team-comprising registered nurses, CRNPs/PAs, master's level therapists, technicians, and a discharge specialist-works collaboratively to offer comprehensive services such as medication management, therapeutic support (both group and individual), and essential referrals for ongoing care.
As our ideal candidate, you will possess a high school diploma and bring a strong desire to learn. While prior experience in behavioral health or crisis- related settings is a plus, it is not required. We will provide comprehensive training upon hire to ensure your success in this role!
This position will work a Sunday through Thursday, night schedule, 11p-7a. Flexibility required to support program coverage and holidays as needed. The dress code is business casual and free on-site parking, ensuring a comfortable and convenient work environment.

Responsibilities:
+ Assist consumer with ADLs and hygiene as needed.
+ Participate in interdisciplinary meetings and treatment planning as part of the recovery team.
+ Provide direct care & supportive counseling using person-centered, strength-based, and recovery-oriented approaches.
+ Use motivational inter viewing & positive strategies to manage crises in office or residential settings.
+ Maintain safety, therapeutic milieu & complete all required documentation accurately.
+ High school diploma or equivalent.
+ B.S. degree _preferred_ .
+ Crisis experience _preferred_ .
+ Consistent ability to respond calmly and effectively, using good clinical judgment to both psychiatric and medical emergencies.
+ Provide direct total physical care to unpredictable, potentially violent mentally ill residents including lifting, supporting, running toward or away from areas where problems are occurring, and pushing or pulling equipment.
+ Ability work efficiently and independently in a high-stress, unpredictable crisis setting while collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team. Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:Act 31 or Act 126 - must be obtained within 90 days. ASIST Certification to be obtained within 1 year of hire or transfer. CPR within 30 days of hire or transfer

+ Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
+ Comprehensive Crisis Management (CCMC)
+ Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal
+ Act 33 with renewal
+ Act 34 with renewal
+ Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
