Job Description

An employer is looking for a Java Developer to sit in Rosslyn, VA. This team is responsible for modernizing and enhancing existing Java-based web applications. The main responsibilities will include implementing automation for deployments using ansible, re writing legacy python 2 scripts in Python 3 and assisting with migrating the enhanced application to most recent version of Linux. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, configuration management, and agile development practices.

Compensation:

$85/hr to $95/hr.

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.

Skills and Requirements

TS with SCI Eligibility and ability to sit and maintain CI Poly

IAT Level II Certification

Bachelor's Degree and 10 years' experience within development

Java development experience specifically with modernizing, enhancing and maintaining current web based applications

Experience using tools like ansible for automation and deployment of code

Experience GitLab for configuration management

Experience with Jira or similar tools for sprint planning

Understanding of Linux environments (Enterprise Linux, Red Hat compatibility) Experience with Oracle applications

Familiarity with YAML files for deployment automation

Knowledge of front-end languages or components
