The NYU School of Professional Studies (NYU SPS) seeks an accomplished scholar-practitioner to serve as Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor and Academic Director for the M.S. in Human Capital Management (HCM) program within the Division of Programs in Business. (The rank of the position will be determined based on the candidate's experience and qualifications.)
This dual appointment combines excellence in teaching and industry engagement with academic leadership. The successful candidate will shape the next generation of HR-technology education, advance applied research, and oversee the day-to-day academic and operational leadership of the HCM department and affiliated graduate programs.
This full-time position is a nine-month appointment with a two-year renewable faculty contract; the Academic Director role is an annual, twelve-month administrative appointment that runs concurrent with the faculty role.
Primary Responsibilities:
+ Teaching and Curriculum Development: Teach and create graduate-level courses focused on HR technology and digital strategy. You'll design hands-on projects and ensure the curriculum includes current topics like AI in the workplace.
+ Thought Leadership and Industry Engagement: Act as a leading voice on HR technology. You'll build relationships with companies and professional groups to create opportunities for students and represent NYU at industry events.
+ Program Leadership and Management: Oversee the academic program's direction and daily operations.
In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base faculty salary range for this position is $100,000-$160,000. The range for the annual administrative stipend is $10,000-$50,000. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.

• Advanced (MBA) or terminal degree (Ph.D., DBA, or equivalent preferred) in Human Capital Management, Information Systems, Organizational Behavior, or a closely related field.
• Extensive professional experience in HR technology, HRIS implementation, or digital-workplace systems.
• Familiarity with or hands-on experience applying AI and generative AI tools in HR contexts.
• Demonstrated excellence in teaching or executive education in HR technology or transformation.
• Proven ability to connect practical HR-technology expertise with academic and applied learning.
