The AvantGarde, LLC (AG) Proposal/Capture Specialist provides a wide variety of business development support,
including playing a lead role in the coordination of proposals, contributing to proposal writing in collaboration with
AGs senior managers and SMEs and researching active business opportunities in the federal, state, and local
governments. This position has potential for 100% remote schedule working out of the employee’s home office upon
approval from COO. Position flexibility to work 24-40 hrs per week.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Support the full capture lifecycle, from opportunity identification through bid/no-bid decisions, strategy
development, teaming partnerships, pricing assumptions, and proposal execution.
• Serve as proposal coordinator working closely with lead BD senior manager from RFP or RFI release through post-
submittal. Coordination involves managing the engagement and process of AG sub partners.
• Contribute to the preparation of proposals by writing proposal content, drafting past performances and resumes,
creating graphics, and researching prior AG proposals to identify relevant content to incorporate into proposals.
• Provide exceptional level of compliance and quality control for the proposal and proposal process; interpret
solicitations to ensure that the proposal complies with all requirements; and conduct reviews to ensure that the
proposal clearly conveys the proper business perspective, key messages, value proposition, and differentiators.
• Coordinate tasks with the proposal team to meet applicable deadlines by managing and collaborating with
internal and external subject matter experts.
• Core writing for various BD, marketing and internal and external features including but no limited to, Support
development of non-technical sections of white papers, proposals, task order submissions, and RFI/RFP
responses. Will also play lead role in drafting monthly blogs, submission of awards for AG and CEO nominations.
And will support the process to track award submissions to identify target awards.
• Participate in/facilitate proposal post-submission meetings to discuss and capture lessons learned.
• Conduct in-depth research and business intelligence gathering to inform pursuit strategies.
• Develop case studies and other information to assess client needs.
• Assess AG’s capabilities and potential fit for new business opportunities.
• Collaborate with others on research activities, strategy sessions, ideation, and design work to build approaches
to new client work and for the expansion of current work.
• Engage with project managers and team members about project work, successes, and challenges; and explore
opportunities for improvement and/or expansion of existing processes and solutions.
• Develop reports/dashboards and maintain databases to track wins/losses. · Supports all knowledge management for documents on BD and blogs and awards by organizing and maintenance of all documents in the AG share drive (Microsoft Office share point platform).
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
• Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 5 years of federal government experience writing proposals for business in
response to solicitations from agencies of the US federal government; experience with human capital and/or
organizational development and IT contracts strongly preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience conducting proposal compliance reviews to ensure AG is well positioned to
comply with all RFP rules and guidelines issued for bid.
• Experience supporting proposal and business development activities, including assessing company capabilities
to meet the requirements of a statement of work or performance work statement.
• Prior experience bidding and securing wins under government wide BPA schedules (such as GSA, Oasis, and other
gov wide vehicles). Compliance exp with these are key.
• Strong attention to detail with exceptional organizational skills in not only managing proposal processes but also
document management within a MO share point environment.
• Exceptional writing, research and communication skills to support creating winning proposals. Witting samples
will be required for top tier candidates selected including submission of an “active writing exercise”.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong time management skills, ability to multi-task, and effective organizational skills. As position is 100%
remote, must display strong self management and self starter type skills to manage work without day to day
direction or oversight.
• Advanced proficiency using the Microsoft Office suite of applications including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word,
Publisher, Outlook.
