Position Description:
Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health is seeking a full-time operative Physician Assistant (PA) to join a team of four cardiothoracic surgeons, four operative physician assistants, and three stepdown unit advanced practice providers. Our cardio-thoracic surgery practice provides expertise in procedures such as coronary artery bypass grafting, off-pump CABG, heart valve replacements and surgical repair of thoracic aortic aneurysms. Our program is a regional leader in new techniques and technologies, including TAVR, Mitra Clip, congestive heart failure surgery, complex mitral valve repair, ventricular assist device therapy, and surgical treatment of atrial fibrillation.
The role of the operative physician assistant includes surgical first assisting, endoscopic radial artery and saphenous vein harvesting, assistance in ECMO cannulation, as well as evaluating preoperative and postoperative patients in our outpatient clinic.
**Hours:** Expected working hours are Monday through Friday with overnight call responsibilities expected one night a week. This role requires weekend on-call duties about 1 weekend per month, and 1-2 holidays per year with occasional ICU and step-down unit rounding responsibilities.
Job Requirements
+ Current licensure as a Physician Assistant by PA Board of Medicine
+ Graduate of Accredited Physician Assistant training program
+ Minimum one-year experience as a Physician Assistant is preferred
