YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The position will be the Bayer Crop Science main point of contact and global account manager with BASF for seed, trait, and crop protection licensing opportunities. You will lead global business development and licensing projects with BASF to create opportunities for additional long-term revenue growth.

The primary responsibilities of this role, Global Business Development and Licensing Account Manager, are to:

+ Provide the expertise and leadership to the organization to identify, negotiate, and implement new global chemistry, seed and trait licensing opportunities while working to maintain existing agreements with BASF;

+ Participate in the development and implementation of our overall global licensing strategy;

+ Work in a competitive environment and drive complex licensing decisions across technologies and lead negotiations fully in line with compliance guidelines;

+ Identify the potential business risks of doing long term global agreements and collaborate with regional teams to understand any unique government and/or value capture issues in each country;

+ Lead cross functional project teams coordinating with key stakeholders both internal and external;

+ This senior level role will Interact with the Executive and Senior Leadership at BASF on an ongoing basis and serve as a major advisor to the Crop Science Leadership team in reference to BASF;

+ In addition to working with BASF this role will be asked to lead other global licensing projects with other global companies as needed.

WHO YOU ARE

Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:

Required Qualifications:

+ Bachelor’s degree;

+ Strategic thinker with experience in complex negotiations with senior leaders;

+ Extensive experience and understanding of the agriculture market;

+ Excellent communication, negotiation, and diplomacy skills;

+ Ability to establish and manage global networks;

+ Strong internal and external networking and stakeholder balancing;

+ Ability to interact with Executive leadership both internally and externally;

+ Solid knowledge of global trait and chemistry landscape;

+ Fluent in English.

Preferred Qualifications:

+ 15 years of work experience;

+ M.B.A.;

+ Experience in account management, licensing, negotiations and developing legal agreements.

Relocation may be offered for this role.

Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $180,521.60 to $270,782.40. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc. This salary range is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant’s location, market data/ranges, an applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
