Job Summary
A fully funded Postdoctoral Research Associated position is available at the Huntsman Cancer Institute at the University of Utah, Salt Lake City, UT, United States. The Batista Lab is seeking a postdoctoral fellow to study the consequences of genetic instability in human stem cells, disease, and cancer, using human pluripotent stem cells and targeted differentiation approaches as a primary working model. Our goal is to determine how DNA and RNA instability lead to tissue failure and cancer, and to develop novel therapeutic approaches to mitigate and treat deleterious phenotypes that arise in patients with impaired DNA and RNA maintenance pathways. Some recent examples of our research include Jeong et al, Science 2023; Vessoni et al, JCB 2021, Munroe et al Hepatology 2020. This project will likely involve human stem cell differentiation assays, protein analysis, single-cell RNA -Sequencing, CRISPR genome editing, and general molecular biology techniques.
_Huntsman Cancer Institute is committed to cancer prevention, care, and survivorship for all communities within the area we serve – which includes Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Utah, and Wyoming – with impact worldwide._
_In your cover letter or during your interview process, we invite you to share how your professional experiences have prepared you to serve as a member of our team as we work to reduce the cancer burden experienced by all people and communities. This may include description of your prior experiences related to research, prevention, clinical care, community engagement/outreach, training, administration, or other areas relevant to Huntsman Cancer Institute’s mission and this position._
