Job Summary

Within this environment, the Office of Research Management & Compliance ( RMC ) plays a critical role in ensuring research is supported with strong financial stewardship, integrity, and accountability. RMC is undergoing a period of exciting transformation — expanding staff capacity, implementing new service models, modernizing business processes, and streamlining technology solutions.
The Infrastructure Specialist is responsible for executing the award setup processes with precision and efficiency, ensuring full compliance with Federal, State, and Institutional regulations, including Uniform Guidance.
Success in this position requires a proactive and collaborative mindset, as daily responsibilities involve cross-functional coordination with internal team and external departments. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and some familiarity with office procedures or administrative tasks are essential.
Responsibilities
+ Work with project managers, Principal Investigators, and OSP to initiate and process new grants, contracts, subcontracts, and amendments. Ensure all necessary documentation is received and accurate.
+ Analyze and interpret contracts, breaking down key terms and conditions, and translate them accurately into the financial system for proper tracking, reporting, and compliance.
+ Input grant and contract data into PeopleSoft (e.g., financial details, project descriptions, funding amounts, etc.) to create projects.
+ Ensure all documents comply with institutional policies and external regulations.
+ Address issues or discrepancies in the setup process, working closely team members to resolve them quickly and accurately.

Minimum Qualifications
**EQUIVALENCY STATEMENT :** 1 year of higher education can be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience (Example: bachelor’s degree = 4 years of directly related work experience).
**Accounting Support Clerks, III :** Requires 3+ years of related experience.
Preferences
+ Working knowledge of Excel, ERP systems—including PeopleSoft, SAP , and Oracle—and financial reporting applications is a plus.
