We are currently seeking a **Marine Systems Engineering Manager** located in Houston, Texas. The Marine Systems Engineering Manager will have responsibility for driving profitable growth through building capability for system integration and new propulsion systems. Additionally, they will collaborate with marine product strategy and the global sales teams to define an integration strategy and execute through product development, technical sales and the support of specific vessel projects. The manager will also assist in formulation of our strategic marine vision with emerging technologies including alternate fuels, electrification, energy storage, autonomy, etc. Working with our internal technology and manufacturing partners, the manager will also drive strategic decision for make / buy, strategic partnerships and joint venture opportunities to drive technology implementation.
What You Will Do:
+ Identify product and services gaps and develop solutions to support our customers through the lifecycle and beyond.
+ Develop value selling (CAPEX,OPEX) and quoting tools needed to successfully sell these types of solutions
+ Provide technical sales support for all new technology and architecture projects which includes but is not limited to:
+ Project integration responsibilities for the Cat scope of supply
+ Collaborate in technical sales meetings
+ Technical support for all technical and project related matters through commissioning
+ Project management oversight
+ Provided strategic guidance and coaching to team members, enhancing performance and professional development.
Degree Requirements:
+ Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in an accredited engineering program (preferably mechanical, electrical or Naval architecture and Marine engineering.)
Top Candidates Will Have:
+ Significant project management skills, including but not limited to technical, financial, order-to-delivery and post commissioning support.
+ Contract and purchasing negotiation experience, establishing and developing commercial relationships with key suppliers and/or industry partners
+ Deep understanding of marine propulsion systems
+ Deep understanding of marine engines, generators, electrical systems and vessel power management

**Customer Service Management:** Knowledge of customer service priorities and ability to utilize tools and techniques for maintaining an environment where all understand, and are committed to providing excellent service to internal and external customers.
**Program Management:** Knowledge of the policies and techniques to manage a set of related projects within a program; ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control the set of projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve program objectives.

Summary Pay Range:
$169,320.00 - $253,920.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
