    This position is located at Central Office in St. Paul and may have the flexibility to telework, work a hybrid schedule, or work in the office. The incumbent will be required to make a telework arrangement with their supervisor. The incumbent will be expected to work in the office as determined by policy and discussion with their supervisor.

     

    This position is responsible for administering the agency’s workers’ compensation program regionally for the Minnesota Department of Transportation. It provides claims management expertise and supports the program on a statewide level to ensure employees receive appropriate benefits and that the agency remains in compliance with Minnesota state statutes and rules.

    Minimum Qualifications

    Two years of professional experience in the following areas:

    + Experience with MN Workers’ Compensation Laws and Rules (e.g., MS §§ 176.001 - 176.862) to manage case files, determine eligibility, or process claims.

    + Experience managing employee leaves and/or accommodations by interpreting and ensuring compliance with ADA-AA and FMLA regulations in a professional capacity.

    + Experience reviewing and summarizing medical documentation (e.g., Physician's Reports, IME findings, treatment plans) to determine compensability and/or calculate disability ratings in a workers' compensation context.

    + Experience interpreting and applying findings from judicial orders and/or settlement agreements (e.g., Findings and Order, Stipulation for Settlement) to administer workers’ compensation claims or advise stakeholders.

    + Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) or equivalent software, specifically demonstrated by managing data in spreadsheets (e.g., pivot tables, formulas) and drafting official correspondence/reports.
