As a Senior Supervisor, Quality Engineering at Collins Aerospace’s Richardson, TX facility, you’ll play a key leadership role ensuring mission-critical electronic assemblies meet the highest standards of precision and reliability. You’ll lead a talented team of facility inspectors, guiding their performance and driving continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen our quality systems. This position offers the opportunity to combine hands-on inspection expertise with people leadership—delivering impact across product quality, compliance, and process efficiency in a dynamic production environment.
In this role, you’ll serve as both a coach and a technical expert—implementing AS9100-compliant inspection processes, supporting root cause investigations, and collaborating with engineering and program teams to ensure every product meets exacting aerospace standards. This is a highly visible, onsite role where your leadership, analytical mindset, and commitment to excellence will directly influence product integrity and customer satisfaction within one of Collins Aerospace’s premier manufacturing sites.
What You Will Do:
+ Lead and manage the Facility Inspection Team, including scheduling, timekeeping, and performance evaluations.
+ Ensure hardware products and test equipment meet all quality, cost, and delivery requirements.
+ Plan and implement key process controls to drive “built-in” quality across manufacturing operations.
+ Analyze program and product performance to ensure compliance with customer and regulatory standards.
+ Perform First Article Inspections in accordance with AS9100 requirements.
+ Maintain configuration management by reviewing and approving work product changes and releases.
+ Champion continuous improvement by leading factory and product process enhancements.
+ Drive and support root cause investigations, corrective actions, and layered process assessments.
+ Review and approve manufacturing, inspection, and test procedures to maintain technical accuracy.
+ Support Mission Assurance activities for electronic assembly and integration operations.
+ Collaborate with customer source inspection representatives to ensure compliance and quality alignment.
+ Manage nonconformances, material alerts, and purge processes to protect product reliability.
+ Prepare and analyze quality data and reports to identify trends and drive improvements.
+ Oversee incident reporting and disposition for dropped or damaged hardware.
Expectations of the Role:
_The Senior Supervisor, Quality Engineer will provide support to ensure compliance with contractual, company, and regulatory requirements. Apply Engineering skills to develop and deploy effective and efficient methods for verifying and accepting processes and products, including the use of quantitative and qualitative tools. Use analytical tools and methods to improve product quality, minimize inspection and manufacturing problems. Provide Team Management to Inspectors and establish performance metrics._
Qualifications/Experience Needed:
+ Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
+ Demonstrated competency in the application of the personal computer to complete assignments, including skills with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, MS Access, MS Project, etc
+ U.S. Citizenship is required, as only US Citizens are eligible to receive US Security Clearance
Qualifications We Prefer:
+ Must be an independent contributor with minimal required supervision
+ Previous Supervisor experience a plus
+ Proficient in SAP
+ J-STD-001 knowledge
+ Experience with AS9100 Quality Management systems
+ Experience with AS9102 First Article requirements
+ Practical experience of Six Sigma, Lean, 5S methodologies (e.g. Kaizen, Lean)
+ Statistical Process Control (SPC), Capability Analysis
+ Experience in aerospace-related manufacturing environment

The salary range for this role is 82,000 USD - 164,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
