Novant Health Southeastern Spine Institute is looking for a Lab Tech!

+ Location: 1625 Hospital Drive, Mount Pleasant, SC 29464

+ Status: Full Time

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8am-4:30pm. No weekends and no major recognized holidays.

What You'll Do

The Lab Tech is an essential member of the team, ensuring quality patient care by:

+ Pffeciently collecting and processing patient urine specimens

+ Performing high complexity testing

+ Ensuring quality control and maintaining patient records

What We're Looking For

+ Education: High School Diploma or GED, required. Individuals performing high complexity testing on or before April 24, 1995 with a high school diploma or equivalent with documented training may continue to perform testing only on those tests for which training was documented prior to Sept 1, 1997. 2 Year / Associate Degree, preferred. 2 year / associate degree in chemical, physical, or biological science or medical technology.

+ Licensure/Certification: HEW Certification, preferred.

+ Additional Skills (required): Knowledge of current medical terminology to perform full range of laboratory tests. Knowledge of laboratory equipment and testing to perform quality control checks and troubleshooting of instrumentation. Knowledge of medical terminology to communicate with medical staff regarding laboratory procedures and results. Skill in performing a full range of laboratory tests. Skill in anticipating and reacting calmly to emergency situations. Skill in developing and maintaining department quality assurance. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, hospital staff and the public. Ability to read and understand information about instrumentation in laboratory field. Ability to follow written protocols. Ability to work independently. Ability to communicate clearly.
