    Mon-Thurs 8a-6p, will rotate weekend package coverage periodically

     

    The Radiology Technologist I performs diagnostic X-ray exams (based on department needs) under the direction of a radiologist. The Radiology Technologist I provides compassionate direct patient care with an emphasis on maintaining organizational values and standards of behavior. The Radiology Technologist I operates diagnostic X-ray equipment to produce diagnostic images of designated portions of the body. The Radiology Technologist I is required to participate in an on-call rotation outside of business hours based on department needs and must be able to work some weekends and holidays.

    Responsibilities

    + Correlates the Diagnostic exam with other tests & preparations to best pronounce the disease process.

    + Produces high quality imaging procedures with precision, accuracy, and in a timely manner for the Radiologist to interpret. Assists Radiologists, other physicians & peers with procedures.

    + Is attentive to detail and accuracy, is committed to excellence Is responsible for their own actions and actively works to improve in areas that are lacking .

    + Proactively identifies problems and communicates these concerns with Diagnostic Leader, seeks out new responsibilities, acts on opportunities, generates new ideas , practices self-development & continuous learning.

    + Practices & monitors radiation protection for patients, employees & oneself during all procedures

    + Disposes of all body fluids, hazardous materials, and chemicals in an appropriate manner according to OSHA standards and guidelines.

    + Adheres to hospital & departmental safety regulations, guidelines, policies, procedures, & protocols.

    + Accountability for completing daily departmental tasks, completing work either in a team or independent setting . Team work in all aspects including patient care in other areas if warranted .

    + Rotates through schedules & all areas of Diagnostic responsibilities as assigned by the Diagnostic Leader .

    Qualifications

    Education:

    + Graduation of Radiology program accredited through the American Registry of Radiologic Technology approved by IDPH required .

    Experience:

    + None.

    License(s)/Certification(s):

    + Valid driver’s license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons required .

    + American Registry of Radiology Technologist required .

    + Iowa Department of Health Permit to Practice required .

    + Current CPR/BCLS certification or obtained within 30 days for new hire.
