As a Cell Test Engineer – Student Worker, you will partner with cell engineers and vehicle performance teams to plan and execute battery-cell testing that directly improves battery and vehicle control systems. Your work will enhance customers’ charging and driving experiences and advance safety. Working cross-functionally, you will sharpen test precision and improve methodologies and measurement and analysis techniques for battery evaluation. Your code and automation will increase efficiency, reduce energy consumption, and lower battery cost—helping to make our products and operations more sustainable.
What you'll do...
+ Conduct lithium-ion battery cell tests, including electrical, mechanical, and electrochemical assessments.
+ Help and support standard operating procedures (SOP) documentation, prioritize tests, and track and communicate test progress to various teams of cell engineers and scientists.
+ Develop and execute automated test scripts using cyclers and chambers to streamline testing processes.
+ Collaborate with data engineers to process test data, maintain testing databases, and create scripts for automated data analysis and report generation.
+ Improve post‑processing pipelines to enhance data accuracy, consistency, and overall data quality.
+ Design and optimize lab automation (hardware and software)
You'll have...
+ Master’s degree or higher in an engineering field with a focus on battery technology or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
+ Proficiency in Python or other programming languages. Experience with AI coding and AI agents.
+ Knowledge of standard electronics tools including DC meters, power supplies, oscilloscopes.
+ Experience with electrical systems (PCB's, resistors, voltage)
+ Exceptional attention to detail and critical thinking skills.
+ Exceptional problem-solving skills, creative thinking, and a proactive mindset.
+ Passion for new technologies, AI, automation, and coding.
+ Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Even better, you may have...
+ Battery Management Systems experience.
+ Familiar with cell teardown, CT scan and other lithium-ion battery analysis methodologies and tools.
