WSP is currently initiating a search for a **Lead Underwater Bridge Inspector** to support our robust and growing Bridge Inspection Practice in the Southeast Region!
This position will be located in **Mooresville, NC**
Your Impact:
+ This is an opportunity for a strong bridge inspection underwater team lead to move into a high-profile role with solid advancement opportunities and a chance to grow a strong team supporting bridge inspection projects in the district.
+ The Bridge and Underwater Inspector shall use his/her education, licensure, and relevant work experience to perform independent and complete evaluation of the condition, function and load carrying capacity of bridges and their individual components.
+ These evaluations may form the basis of recommendations to bridge owners for repair, rehabilitation, or replacement.
+ Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
Who You Are
Required Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s Degree.
+ 7-10 years of relevant experience with prior construction inspection or NBIS bridge inspection experience and dive experience with commercial dive supervisor certification (ADCI or equivalent).
+ Ability to pass a USDOT physical and ADCI diver's physical.
+ Successful completion of NHI course Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges (or obtain within 6 months).
+ Successful completion of NHI course Underwater Bridge Inspection (or obtain within 6 months).
+ Valid state driver’s license.
+ Physically capable of performing field work including climbing slopes and ladders, carrying gear (up to 75 lbs), operating small boats, and using hand and power tools, etc.
+ Ability to read plans and specifications to provide technical assistance on bridge inspections.
+ Familiar with inspection practices, process, methods and techniques.
+ Familiar with relevant construction codes, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements.
+ Ability to work independently under general supervision, as well as part of a team to meet business objectives.
+ Occasional travel/overnight travel will be required depending on project-specific requirements and project location.
+ The selected candidate must have the ability to work in the United States immediately.
+ Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Professional Engineer (PE) licensed in the state of South Carolina or ability to obtain in six (6) months.
+ Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.
+ Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical work week.
