Texas A&M University's Technology Services (https://it.tamu.edu/) is actively seeking a mid-level Video Network Specialist to join our team to support our School of Pharmacy and the School of Public Health here in College Station, Texas.
As a Video Network Specialist II, you’ll be behind the scenes, ensuring classrooms teleconferencing systems are running smoothly for our faculty. You’ll also oversee the training and mentoring of our student technicians, empowering them to provide tier I AV technical support. When more complex issues arise, that’s when you’ll step in, to utilize your problem solving and technical skills to provide the tier II support.

Here is a glimpse of what you’ll do:
+ Install, modify, and repair video teleconference systems
+ Perform video conferencing technical support and troubleshooting
+ Verify satellite downlinks and transmissions between conference sites
+ Maintain documentation
+ Train student technicians to provide tier I support
+ Participate in AV training and professional development activities as approved by IT Leadership
What you need to know
Salary: $45,000 – $49,500 annually
Physical Requirements:
+ Must be able to lift and/or move heavy weighted objects.
+ Must be able to remain stationary for long periods of time performing AV (Audio Visual) installations and other essential duties.
Schedule: This role may require working outside of standard office hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to support the demands of technology services and ensure the seamless operation of essential systems
Qualifications
+ A bachelor's or equivalent combination of education
+ Two years of related experience in video teleconferencing systems.
A well-qualified candidate would also possess one or more of the following:
+ Experience in AV system design, higher education, or medical facility AV support.
+ Experience with video and audio conferencing, project management, CODECs, Cisco TMS, AV camera operation and deployment.
+ Site survey design, experience with CAT5/6 cabling terminations.
+ Knowledge of AV deployment design, room design, AV configuration tools, Crestron, Biamp, AMX, Vaddio products.
+ Ability to add documents to share points.
+ Ability to setup zoom meetings and share content.
+ Ability to manage vendors and projects.
+ Audio Visual (AV) test procedures for conferencing, camera, and audio testing.
+ Ability to access back-office management products.
