Description
The HETSS Team is a dynamic, multidisciplinary collaboration spanning UCLA campus, UCLA Health, Los Angeles County Public Health, and the broader Los Angeles community, all united by a shared mission to advance equitable care for all. We are seeking a HETSS Administrator to support this impactful work and help drive the operational success of a high-performing, research-intensive academic unit.
Reporting to the Department Chief(s) and the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), the HETSS Administrator serves as the Assistant Manager of Operations for the unit. In this role, you will oversee a broad range of business, operational, and administrative functions, with varying levels of independence, supporting the success and efficiency of a complex academic division. Responsibilities include coordinating operational workflows, supporting program implementation, managing key administrative processes, and helping ensure smooth day-to-day functioning across research, clinical, educational, and community-engaged activities.
You will contribute to the management of a unit with a significant annual budget, diverse funding sources, and a multidisciplinary team that includes professional staff, clinical and research faculty, and trainees involved in both clinical and research initiatives.

Annual range: $78,500-$163,600
Qualifications
Required:
+ Bachelor's Degree and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
+ Minimum of 3 years as a project lead in a business/admin unit within a basic science/clinical department or service line
+ Understanding of the concepts of strategic leadership, planning and change management approaches in a complex environment, preferably a research-intensive medical school/health system.
+ Ability to demonstrate an entry level of diplomacy in persuading and influencing people at various levels to achieve results.
+ Ability to identify and analyze pertinent information/data to make and communicate recommendations and decisions.
+ Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
+ Ability as a partner to maintain a culture of integrity and accountability.
+ Understanding of financial planning concepts as it pertains to academic health care, research and higher education.
+ Ability to serve as a receptive listener and seeks to understand the differing sides of each situation.
