    Clean Harbors is seeking an **IT Cloud Architect** to facilitate the development of custom business applications, recommend tools and processes and provide guidance to the software development organization. Collaborates with lead engineers across information technology departments to solve problems and provide inter-disciplinary. May mentor and provide guidance to less experienced team members' solutions.

    + Protects operations by keeping information confidential **Additional Cloud Architecture Responsibilities**

    + Design and implement Azure and hybrid cloud solutions: Architect scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud environments using Microsoft Azure, Oracle and hybrid cloud models.

    + Collaborate with stakeholders to define cloud migration strategies and optimize workloads across on-premises and cloud platforms.

    + Lead identity and access management (IAM) initiatives: Oversee the integration and management of Microsoft Entra (Azure Active Directory), ensuring robust authentication, authorization, and governance for users, applications, and resources.

    + Develop and support SaaS models: Architect and guide the adoption of Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solutions, evaluating vendor offerings, ensuring compliance with security and data privacy standards, and integrating SaaS platforms with existing enterprise systems.

    + Design, implement architectural best practices for cloud infrastructure **:** Work with and in conjunction with Azure and Oracle Ops team cloud environments. These best practices include virtual machines, storage, networking, security, backup, and disaster recovery.

    + Ensure high availability, performance, and cost optimization across all cloud services.

    + Lead cloud adoption and migration strategies: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate existing systems, propose migration strategies (e.g., Oracle to Azure), and architect hybrid solutions that align with business requirements and organizational standards.

    + Architect cloud applications and integrations: Design cloud-native applications, environments, and integrations driven by business needs. Ensure robust DevOps practices and contribute to planning, deployment, and testing phases.

    + Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize cloud operations: Proactively monitor cloud issues, incidents, and alerts. Provide root cause analysis, resolution, and implement best practices for performance, security, and cost management.

    + Lead and mentor cloud engineering teams: Provide technical guidance, support, and coaching to cloud engineers. Foster collaboration with development, testing, and project management teams to ensure alignment and integration of cloud solutions.

    + Drive innovation and continuous improvement: Stay current with emerging cloud technologies, evaluate new tools and services, and recommend enhancements to maintain effectiveness and competitiveness.

    + Ensure compliance and governance: Implement and enforce security, data privacy, and compliance standards for all cloud and SaaS solutions.

    + Oversee IAM architecture (Microsoft Entra/Azure AD) initiatives for robust authentication, authorization, and governance practices.

    + Collaborate, research, and communicate: Engage with stakeholders, business units, and enterprise teams to understand requirements, communicate architectural strategies, and resolve inter-program and inter-project issues.

    + Design scalable, secure, and high-performance data architectures leveraging Azure, Oracle, and hybrid cloud environments. Ensure solutions support advanced analytics, reporting, and business intelligence needs.

    + Work closely with data engineers, analysts, and business units to understand requirements, define data models, and deliver solutions that drive actionable

    + Architect solutions for efficient data storage (e.g., data lakes, warehouses) and processing (e.g., ETL pipelines, real-time streaming) to support business objectives and cost management.

    + Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/Computer Engineering/Related field

    + 5+ years of experience in a similar role;

    + Excellent verbal and written communication skills;

    + Analyzing Information, General Programming Skills, Software Design, Software Debugging;

    + Software Documentation, Software Testing, Problem Solving, Teamwork;

    + Azure or cloud certification
