Description
Ready to shape employee engagement and understanding at one of the world's most innovative companies? We are seeking a high judgment, creative, and results-driven Internal Communications Manager for the Finance & Global Business Services (FGBS) Communications team. You'll develop and execute strategic internal communications that help our global FGBS employees understand and connect with business priorities, uncovering their stories, optimizing across channels, and driving communications best practices.
Your impact will include:
- Owning and optimizing critical employee communications channels, including FGBS's A to Z News, newsletter, and website
- Creating compelling content that transforms complex business updates into engaging employee stories
- Supporting CFO-sponsored employee events through strategic communications and leadership presentation development
- Managing high-visibility internal communications for quarterly financial results and organizational announcements
- Building stakeholder relationships to surface impactful stories and ensure coordinated communications
- Analyzing metrics to optimize content strategy and demonstrate business value
You'll collaborate across teams in FGBS and beyond, including Internal Corporate Communications (ICC), People Experience and Technology (PXT), Investor Relations, and more.
The ideal candidate excels at building productive relationships, thinks strategically, and can deep dive on data while thinking big on ideas to act on insights. Strong editorial judgment and ability to adapt complex information for employees are essential skills, as is experience managing high-visibility communications channels. We value candidates who demonstrate data-driven decision making skills and enthusiasm for leveraging AI and other tools to enhance communication effectiveness.
Key job responsibilities
- Support and contribute to internal organizational communication and engagement strategy set by the team lead
- Write internal communications for a range of programs, projects, and events such as financial announcements, technology launches, employee experience programs, and more
- Work with partners across the business and global comms teams to source and deliver communications focused on organizational priorities, employee experiences, and Amazon's culture
- Grow and develop global internal communications programs to support organization priorities and strategy
- Provide internal communications support and counsel to organization business partners
- Build and leverage internal communications tools including publishing tools, newsletters, email, video, and more to engage employees
- Manage communications feedback gathering and reporting and measurement mechanisms
A day in the life
Your day might begin with reviewing metrics from a recent CFO communication, and deciding how to optimize it going forward. Lead a business review of the doc you developed on creating employee-centric messaging for an organizational change. Interview employees about their communication preferences. Grab lunch and take a walk through the rainforest of the Spheres. In the afternoon, help VPs on their townhall presentations, and end your day leading the FGBS communications community call, sharing best practices and insights. Each day brings new ways to help tell Amazon's story, connecting our global FGBS teams to the bigger picture of how their work enables Amazon to build Earth's most customer-centric company.

The FGBS organization plays a key role in the company’s mission to be Earth’s most customer-centric company, and includes finance functions such as Financial Planning and Analysis, Accounting, Tax, as well as other non–finance functions such as Global Real Estate and Facilities. The organization is made up of passionate Amazonians who are constantly driving improvements in the services they offer customers and the inclusive culture we are building.
Basic Qualifications
- 7+ years of recent professional communications or public relations experience
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience prioritizing and handling multiple assignments at any given time while maintaining commitment to deadlines
- Experience building strategic relationships with stakeholders, including communicating and collaborating across teams and functions
- Excellent written and oral communications skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience communicating to a diverse, global audience
- Experience in internal communications for a multinational company
- Experience publishing to and optimizing content for a range of internal communications channels

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $114,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $188,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
