    Position Summary:

    The Christine E. Lynn College of Nursing at Florida Atlantic University invites applications for Assistant or Associate Professor – Practice Teaching Track and the Director of the FAU/NCHA Community Health Center. This faculty position combines teaching, clinical practice, scholarship, and service with leadership opportunities in community-based and interprofessional education initiatives.FAU’s Christine E. Lynn College of Nursing is internationally recognized for its commitment to Caring: expanding the science, practicing the art, studying the meaning, and living it day-to-day. The College offers four degree programs (BSN, MSN, DNP, and PhD) with caring-based curricula and opportunities for interprofessional collaboration with medicine, social work, and pharmacy.Faculty in the Practice Teaching Track (PTT) are non-tenure-earning and are expected to excel in teaching, clinical practice, and professional engagement that advance caring science and promote health equity across the lifespan.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Teaching and Academic Responsibilities

    + Teach and mentor undergraduate and graduate nursing students in didactic and clinical settings.

    + Develop, implement, and evaluate innovative curricula rooted in caring science and evidence-based practice.

    + Provide academic advising and mentoring to students, supporting their academic and professional growth.

    + Engage in various initiatives and collaborate with other FAU colleges.

    + Participate in accreditation, curriculum review, and faculty governance activities.

    Clinical Practice and Leadership (Community Health Center – CHC)

    + Provide overall leadership and strategic direction for Community Health Center (CHC) operations, clinical services, and community health initiatives.

    + Oversee day-to-day clinical operations, ensuring compliance with state and federally qualified health center standards.

    + Supervise and coordinate clinic personnel, policies, and quality improvement programs.

    + Serve as a primary provider of patient care, including direct primary care services as needed.

    + Coordinate and enhance the quality of student clinical experiences in collaboration with faculty and clinic staff.

    + Develop outreach and partnership strategies to promote CHC visibility and community engagement.

    + Represent the CHC at community events, health fairs, and coalition meetings to expand resources and service offerings.

    + Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to align partnerships with FAU’s strategic priorities and funding opportunities.

    + Lead a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, fostering a culture of innovation, mentorship, and professional growth.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Doctorate in Nursing (PhD, DNP, or EdD).

    • National certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-BC, FNP-C).

    • Active and unencumbered RN or APRN license (or eligibility for licensure) in the state of Florida.

    • Demonstrated excellence in teaching, clinical practice, and leadership.

    • Commitment to creating educational environments where all student populations thrive.
