Job Title: Metallurgical Chemist

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Metallurgical Chemist with strong expertise in ICP-OES techniques to join our laboratory team. This role supports both R&D and production quality control, focusing on the analytical testing of mineral concentrates, metals, and process solutions.

Responsibilities

+ Perform elemental analysis using ICP-OES (Optima 8300 or equivalent).

+ Prepare, digest, and analyze solid and liquid samples.

+ Support metallurgical process development, including work with leach solutions, concentrates, residues, and metals.

+ Conduct wet chemistry techniques such as titrations, gravimetric analysis, and acid/base digestion.

+ Calibrate and maintain ICP instruments, ensuring accuracy and data integrity.

+ Develop and validate new analytical methods for metals and alloys.

+ Interpret and report results to engineers, researchers, and management.

+ Maintain QA/QC-compliant laboratory records and follow EH&S standards.

+ Collaborate with R&D, process engineering, and operations teams.

Essential Skills

+ Proficiency in Chemistry and Analytical Chemistry.

+ Experience with ICP-OES and wet chemistry.

+ Strong analytical and titration skills.

+ Familiarity with QC, FTIR, GC-MS, Gas Chromatography, ICP, ICP-OES, and XRF.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Bachelor's degree in Chemistry.

+ Hands-on ICP-OES experience.

+ Strong experience in wet chemistry and metallurgical analysis.

+ Detail-oriented with excellent data interpretation and reporting skills.

+ Commitment to safe laboratory practices and regulatory compliance.

Work Environment

This position operates within a lab/warehouse environment. Employees benefit from stock options and are expected to adhere to safety and regulatory standards while working with advanced laboratory equipment.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fort Lauderdale, FL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.85 - $28.85/hr.
