Job Title: Electrical DrafterJob Description
The AutoCAD Electrical Drafter will be responsible for creating and revising electrical drawings and schematics for power generation systems and related equipment. This role supports engineering and project teams by ensuring accurate, detailed, and compliant documentation for manufacturing, installation, and maintenance. The candidate will also assist piping designers by providing AutoCAD 2D drawings.
Responsibilities
+ Develop and update electrical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams using AutoCAD Electrical.
+ Interpret engineering specifications and incorporate them into detailed drawings.
+ Maintain drawing standards and ensure compliance with industry codes and company guidelines.
+ Collaborate with engineers and project managers to resolve design issues and ensure accuracy.
+ Organize and manage drawing files and documentation for project deliverables.
+ Assist in preparing bills of materials (BOM) and other supporting documents.
+ Support continuous improvement initiatives for drafting processes and standards.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical and familiarity with other CAD tools.
+ Strong understanding of electrical systems, components, schematics, and one-line diagrams.
+ Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
+ Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Associate degree or technical certification in drafting or electrical design preferred.
+ 3+ years of experience in electrical drafting, preferably in power generation or industrial systems.
Work Environment
The candidate will work in an office environment alongside piping designers and engineering managers. This role offers the opportunity to be on a long-term contract.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Houston, TX.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr.
