Job Title: Mechanical EstimatorJob Description
The ideal candidate for the Mechanical Estimator position combines strong technical proficiency with organizational excellence. The role requires advanced skills in Excel for data analysis and cost modeling, the ability to interpret engineering drawings and understand Autodesk Inventor designs, and a keen attention to detail to ensure accurate bids. Success in this role involves managing multiple projects under tight deadlines while maintaining clear communication with internal teams and customers. A proactive, adaptable mindset and curiosity about products and applications are highly valued, along with a willingness to travel occasionally for trade shows and site visits.
Responsibilities
+ Prepare accurate cost estimates and bid proposals using Excel and other tools.
+ Interpret engineering drawings and understand Autodesk Inventor designs.
+ Collaborate with sales representatives and technical teams to gather project inputs.
+ Maintain and update pricing databases, templates, and estimation tools.
+ Communicate effectively via email, phone, and through sales reps to clarify requirements.
+ Manage multiple bids under tight deadlines with strong attention to detail.
+ Occasionally attend trade shows and job sites to support sales efforts.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in estimation and cost modeling.
+ Ability to interpret engineering drawings and understand Autodesk Inventor.
+ Advanced Excel skills for data analysis.
+ Strong communication skills with internal teams and customers.
+ Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Background in manufacturing, with experience in powder coating being advantageous.
+ Ability to read and understand blueprints.
+ Experience in taking quality photos for marketing.
Work Environment
The role requires working onsite in a cubicle with the sales and purchasing team. There will also be opportunities to work on the floor to gain an understanding of products and take pictures for marketing purposes. The facility is located in Vancouver and is massive, with multiple spray booths capable of handling projects from automotive to aerospace and defense sectors such as planes. The work environment offers two weeks of paid time off and five sick days.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Vancouver, WA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $45.00/hr.
