    Job Title: Drafter

    Job Description

    The primary function of this role is to create and modify drawings and models using REVIT software.

    Responsibilities

    + Perform routine assignments requiring a thorough knowledge of computer-aided drafting system standards, practices, and techniques.

    + Create quick actions utilizing the command language of the system to assist in drawing creation.

    + Utilize knowledge of mathematics in the preparation of drawings.

    + Develop increased proficiency in system operation, resulting in increased productivity, and learn how to use all software options.

    + Review work order and procedural manuals to determine critical dimensions of design.

    + Calculate figures to convert design dimensions to resizing dimensions specified for subsequent production processes, using conversion charts and calculators.

    + Perform additional duties as assigned.

    Essential Skills

    + Proficiency in REVIT, AutoCAD, NavisWorks, and BIM software.

    + Experience with electrical drafting using 3D modeling software.

    + Ability to create and manipulate Revit Worksheets and understand Revit work sharing processes.

    + Fluency in 2D and 3D space and understanding of 3D coordination with other trades.

    + Ability to read and interpret 2D plans, electronically or hard copy.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + High school diploma/GED and drafting courses required; one to two years of technical training preferred.

    + Working experience in electrical drafting or MEP is preferred.

    + General working knowledge of construction software such as Revit, NavisWorks, AutoCAD, and Bluebeam.

    + Ability to take verbal and general written direction well and turn that direction into appropriate, working shop drawings.

    + Fluency with all plotters, printers, and reproduction systems used in-house or on the job site.

    + Ability to import documents such as spreadsheets, photos, images, and word processing files into Revit projects.

    + Skills above and beyond would include creating simple parametric families, utilizing shared parameters, creating schedules, and creating complex geometry.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Portland, OR.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $45.00/hr.
