Job Title: Civil Engineer (EIT or PE)

Overview

We’re seeking a Civil Engineer (EIT or PE) who’s passionate about shaping the built environment through thoughtful site design and impactful infrastructure projects.

This role offers the chance to work on a wide variety of exciting projects—from campus and urban design to multi-family, commercial, and large-scale master planning. What You’ll Do

+ Design and analyze civil engineering components including grading, drainage, stormwater, utilities, and site layout.

+ Prepare technical reports, design calculations, and construction documentation.

+ Develop detailed drawings using AutoCAD Civil 3D and other modeling tools.

+ Conduct QA/QC reviews and ensure design accuracy and compliance.

+ Manage small projects or key components of larger efforts.

+ Mentor and review work from Designers, EITs, and CAD Technicians.

+ Perform construction observation, site visits, field reports, and respond to contractor RFIs.

+ Support project planning, scheduling, and administrative tasks under the guidance of a Project Manager and Studio Leader.

What You Bring

+ Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.

+ Registered Professional Engineer (PE) or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.

+ 5+ years of relevant experience in site development and civil design.

+ Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and other site design software.

+ Strong understanding of civil engineering principles and local/state permitting requirements.

+ Excellent communication, writing, and visualization skills—both hand and digital.

+ Ability to manage tasks, meet deadlines, and contribute to a collaborative design process.

Bonus Skills

+ Valid driver’s license preferred.

+ Familiarity with federal, state, and local codes.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chapel Hill, NC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $40.00/hr.
