Job Title: Mechanical Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking an outstanding Mechanical Engineer with experience in aerospace who can demonstrate the ability to accomplish tasks efficiently and effectively. The successful candidate will develop 3D and 2D mechanical designs and related analyses specifically for payload satellite systems using Siemens NX. This role requires a strong foundation in mechanical engineering suitable for both prototype and production-level designs.

Responsibilities

+ Develop and analyze 3D and 2D mechanical designs for payload satellite systems using Siemens NX.

+ Utilize NASTRAN for structural analysis.

+ Engage in precision mechanisms or machined parts development.

+ Apply GD&T and stack-up analysis.

+ Use tools such as JIRA and Confluence for project management and collaboration.

+ Specify and justify margins, test sequences, and qualify space systems.

+ Evaluate manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs.

+ Collaborate with equipment vendors and operators to gather observations for process improvement.

Essential Skills

+ Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.

+ 3+ years of experience with CAD, specifically NX.

+ 3+ years of experience in the design and development of hardware at scale, including machined parts and precision mechanisms.

+ 3+ years of experience with aerospace systems' development, testing, and deployment.

+ Experience with NASTRAN for structural analysis.

+ Experience in Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and manufacturing process development.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ 6+ years of experience in the design, qualification, and volume production of PCBA enclosures for spacecraft.

+ Experience with NX and TeamCenter.

+ Ability to lead interdisciplinary discussions between Hardware, Reliability, and Firmware teams.

+ Experience with issue tracking applications such as JIRA and TRAC.

+ Strong time and task management skills with attention to detail.

+ Ability to calculate production, labor, and material costs and review production schedules.

This position requires working onsite in Redmond

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Redmond, WA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $70.00 - $75.00/hr.
