Job Posting – Electrical Design Engineer (Building Systems | NYC Hybrid)

We’re hiring an Electrical Design Engineer to lead electrical design for building systems including power distribution, lighting, panels, and generators. This is a hybrid role based in NYC, ideal for candidates with strong technical expertise and project leadership experience.

About the Role

You’ll manage small-to-medium projects, perform load calculations, and produce detailed electrical drawings using AutoCAD MEP and Revit. You’ll collaborate with architects, engineers, and clients to ensure compliance with codes and deliver high-quality solutions.

Key Responsibilities

+ Conduct engineering and load calculations, equipment selection, and energy analysis

+ Prepare electrical layouts for power distribution, lighting, and emergency systems

+ Manage project schedules and budgets to meet deliverables

+ Utilize AutoCAD MEP and Revit for design documentation

+ Review local and national codes and ensure compliance

+ Oversee construction administration tasks including shop drawing reviews

Qualifications

+ Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering

+ 5–8 years of electrical design experience for building systems

+ Proficiency in AutoCAD MEP and Revit

+ Experience with load calculations and managing small-to-medium projects

+ Strong communication and organizational skills

+ EIT or PE preferred; Data center experience a plus

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of New York, NY.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $55.00/hr.
