    Job Title: Sensory TechnicianJob Description

     

    We are seeking a dedicated Sensory Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor's degree in sciences, preferably in Food Science, and possess lab experience as well as expertise in sensory testing. This role involves running sensory tests, assisting sessions, and contributing to a variety of sensory and consumer testing activities.

    Responsibilities

    + Administer sensory and consumer tests following the instructions of the Sensory Specialist/Scientist and Senior Technician, adhering to best practices.

    + Manage products under test, including procurement, storage, and disposal.

    + Contribute to checking panel data and building results reports.

    + Schedule, plan, and execute informal tastings, including product preparation, ballot development, and reporting.

    + Participate in informal tastings to provide guidance as needed.

    + Oversee all acuity testing requirements for discrimination panel recruitment, including onboarding, lab orientation, lab set-up, and maintaining records of attendance and performance.

    + Assist in the training and management of sensory panels, screening, training, and monitoring performance of both internal and external panels.

    + Maintain records of external panel attendance and performance, and manage panels' information.

    + Assist in analysis and reporting of sensory results using sensory software for data acquisition and analysis.

    + Summarize and report results as necessary.

    Essential Skills

    + Bachelor's degree in sciences, preferably in Food Science.

    + Experience in sensory testing and laboratory management.

    + Core knowledge of sensory evaluation methodologies, procedures, and processes.

    + Proficiency in safety, Good Manufacturing Practices, and Good Laboratory Practices.

    + Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.

    + Computer literacy, including MS-Office and dedicated sensory software.

    + Proficiency in local language and basic level of English (written and oral).

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience in sensory laboratory management is a plus.

    + Technical training in a scientific or food-related field is an advantage.

    This is a Contract position based out of BRIDGEWATER, NJ.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
