Job Title: Logistics EngineerJob Description
The Logistics Engineer will maintain component parts inventory by utilizing the Server E. Kanban System. This role requires daily analysis of all abnormal conditions in the supply chain from North American parts suppliers to the plant, and involves parts investigation using problem-solving methods on the shop floor while utilizing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). The role also involves developing, visualizing, and monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs), operating procedures, and project schedules. The candidate will provide clear and timely communication and coordination with suppliers for the management of crisis situations, aiming to minimize the impact on production and ensure timely expedited shipping to meet need times. Additionally, the role supports build-out and start-up targets to achieve project goals and partners with external and internal logistics groups to reduce internal part shortages and overflow.
Responsibilities
+ Maintain component parts inventory using the Server E. Kanban System.
+ Analyze daily abnormal conditions in the supply chain from North American parts suppliers to the plant.
+ Investigate parts using problem-solving methods on the shop floor with appropriate PPE.
+ Develop, visualize, and monitor KPIs, operating procedures, and project schedules.
+ Communicate and coordinate with suppliers for crisis management to minimize production impact.
+ Support build-out and start-up targets to achieve project goals.
+ Partner with logistics groups to reduce part shortages and overflow.
+ Request and monitor recovery of abnormal supply chain conditions.
+ Work with the engineering department on the production floor to implement problem-solving methods.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in supply chain analysis, logistics analysis, and logistics management.
+ Strong skills in Microsoft Excel and supply chain analytics.
+ Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, Packaging, Mathematics, or a related field.
+ Experience in manufacturing, supply chain, PowerBI, inventory management, and SAP.
+ Good analytical skills for data and ordering pattern analysis.
+ Experience in coordinating, presenting, or leading decision-making meetings.
+ External logistics/supply chain experience (6+ months).
+ Availability to work 2nd shift if necessary (5:15 PM - 2:00 AM).
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience in data analysis and visualization.
+ Functional project management skills in large-scale manufacturing.
+ Spanish fluency is an added bonus.
Work Environment
This position involves North American part ordering, covering 394 suppliers and 8,000 part numbers. Work will be conducted on the floor and in an open cubicle environment. The group must be available for overtime when needed to support production. The start time is 6:00 AM (can be flexible) with a normal 10-hour workday, Monday through Friday. Proper PPE (steel toes, long pants, high visibility vest, ear protection, eye protection) must be worn at all times on the manufacturing floor. The role involves a lot of walking and steps per day. Benefits include two weeks of PTO, two weeks of paid shutdown, and nine paid holidays per year. The company offers opportunities for conversion to full-time roles.

This is a Contract position based out of Georgetown, KY.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $45.00/hr.
