Job Description:
The Data Center Controls Engineering team is looking for exceptional individuals to join our Controls organization as a Controls Technician for Service & Construction of the Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Monitoring System (EPMS) within Amazon data centers. The candidate will possess a technical bckgrnd and experience in installation, troubleshooting, operations, and/or maintenance of field sensors, controllers, wiring, networking, and programming associated with industrial control systems. The candidate may also have relevant experience operating and maintaining mission-critical electrical and mechanical systems. A Controls Technician is responsible for participating in the installation, testing, troubleshooting, and startup of equipment and control systems associated with BMS and EPMS deployment in data centers. A Controls Technician is expected to actively innovate on behalf of customers in the area of data center building automation.
Key Job Responsibilities
+ Deploy, service, and upgrade Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS) across multiple data centers.
+ Perform diagnostics, troubleshooting, and maintenance of programming code and hardware for BMS and EPMS systems.
+ Execute provisioning and configuration of servers, controllers, industrial PCs, and network communication between devices.
+ Install, replace, configure, and calibrate sensors and related field devices.
+ Read and interpret electrical schematics and control panel drawings; apply knowledge of closed-loop controls and industrial controllers.
+ Supervise contractors and ensure compliance with AWS standards during wiring and installation of low-voltage field devices.
+ Ability to travel approximately 40% domestically to support BMS and EPMS-related work at AWS data centers and/or vendor premises.
MUST HAVES:
+ Technical (Military/Trade School) diploma or Associate degree with one year of experience related to industrial instrumentation/controls or equivalent experience.
+ Minimum one year of experience working with computer components and operating systems.
+ Minimum one year of experience with mission-critical low and medium voltage electrical and/or mechanical systems.
+ Basic understanding of industrial control systems, controllers, and programming, including troubleshooting of industrial controls analog, discrete, and networked input/output field signals.
NICE TO HAVES:
+ International Society of Automation (ISA) Certified Control Systems Technician (CCST) Level I or higher certification.
+ Fundamental knowledge of network design and layout as well as low-voltage (copper/fiber) cabling.
+ One year experience working in a Data Center or mission critical environment

This is a Contract position based out of Herndon, VA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $43.00/hr.
